Bioengineering is the integration of engineering, biology and medicine. Research areas of the department include bioinformatics/genomics, cardiovascular system engineering, tissue engineering/cell-matrix engineering, and molecular biomechanics.

Bioengineering with a Specialization in Medical Device Engineering (BE83)

Program Overview The purpose of the MDE specialization is to prepare design and project engineers for careers in the medical device industry. This program addresses both the technical and professional needs of creating new medical devices and is intended for students who are primarily interested in engineering design, development, manufacturing and management within an industrial or professional setting
