Program Overview This is a unique graduate degree program that develops the in-depth knowledge and skills necessary to perform valid, credible research. This innovative program was created in response to an increasing demand for well-qualified professionals able to perform patient-based research in academia, industry, research institutes, and health and regulatory agencies.

As a self-funded degree, this program does not receive any state funding. The only discount available to UC employees is participating in the CREST program. Please contact the department for more information. Students are required to pay a per-unit course fee set by the program. The program does offer a merit scholarship (for U.S. citizens & permanent residents only), with the same deadline as the application deadline. A test of English language proficiency is required for international applicants whose native language is not English and who have not studied full-time for one uninterrupted academic year at a university-level institution in which English is the language of instruction and in a country where English is a dominant language.

The following test(s) are accepted by this department:

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

Minimum scores required are 85 for TOEFL exam and 7.0 for IELTS exam.

Minimum of 3 recommendations required.

Additional Requirements

Completion of the MAS program in Clinical Research requires the student to complete a mentored clinical research study to fulfill the thesis requirement of the degree. Briefly describe two research areas with which you would be most comfortable for pursuing this research project, including information about the methods you have applied in these fields. Please limit your answer to 500 words.
